BACON TWISTS

If you’re a bacon lover (and who isn’t?), you’re going to love this fun twist (literally), on the classic bacon strip. BACON TWISTS are crispy, crunchy, and incredibly easy to make and serve.
Perfect as a high-fat snack, party appetizer, or even a breakfast side dish, bacon twists are quick to prepare and a fun way to change up your bacon routine. Whether you’re following a carnivore or keto diet or just looking for a delicious snack, bacon twists offer a fun and tasty twist on a classic favorite.
Twisting the bacon before cooking helps create pockets of crispy edges and keeps the strips chewy in the middle. Plus, they’re ideal for meal prep and can be stored for a quick grab-and-go snack throughout the week. They are a huge hit with kids, and I always keep a bunch of cooked bacon twists in my fridge for an easy and quick snack that’s perfect for any time of day for the whole family.
Serve these BACON TWISTS warm or store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week and simply reheat them in the oven or pan when you’re ready to enjoy. They’re delicious as a snack, alongside breakfast, or even as a fun topping for salads or soups!
You can keep it simple with just bacon or get creative with different seasonings like smoked paprika, black pepper, or even a pinch of garlic or onion powder for added depth. The natural saltiness of the bacon pairs beautifully with savory or spicy flavors. Pair with homemade carnivore mayonnaise or, a raw or poached egg yolk, for the ultimate crispy, creamy combo.
Next time you’re in the mood for bacon, give this recipe a try. I guarantee you’ll be hooked on the extra crispiness and flavor. Happy twisting!

Ingredients

  • 1 package of bacon 12-16 oz

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Take each strip of bacon and, starting from one end, lightly stretch and twist the strip until it forms a tight spiral. Lay the twisted bacon on the baking sheet. The twists will hold their shape as they cook and create crispy ridges. If you want to add a bit of extra flavor, sprinkle your desired seasoning over the bacon twists.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispiness. Keep an eye on the bacon as it nears the 20-minute mark; cooking time will vary based on the thickness of your bacon and how crispy you like it. Once your bacon twists are crispy to your liking, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess grease and makes them even crunchier.
